40 ton battery transfer trolley for transformer factory

Within a large-scale power transformer manufacturing facility, 40-ton class transformers—specifically their heavy iron cores—are classified as critical, high-value assets. These workpieces are not only massive in weight and volume but also demand an exceptionally high degree of stability during transport. Traditional handling methods—relying on an overhead crane for lifting in conjunction with a forklift for transfer—are problematic; they consume excessive floor space, pose a risk of objects falling from heights, and result in inefficient workflow between various workstations (such as the winding area, vacuum drying furnace, and final assembly zone). To address these challenges, the factory has introduced customized 40-ton battery-powered trackless transfer carts to streamline the internal material handling of transformers and related components.
 
To address the floor load-bearing requirements of the transformer workshop, as well as the need for inter-workshop operations, a lithium-battery-powered, trackless, omnidirectional transfer cart with a rated load capacity of 40 tons was selected. Powered independently by a high-performance lithium iron phosphate battery pack, the cart achieves full-degree-of-freedom, flexible mobility within the workshop.
Key specifications include:
-Power System:Employs a high-power AC vector-drive motor, ensuring smooth starts and robust climbing capabilities—even when carrying a full load of 40 tons.
-Steering System: Equipped with a multi-wheel independent steering or differential steering mechanism, supporting straight-line travel, lateral movement, and 360-degree rotation in place; this significantly enhances maneuverability within narrow workshop aisles.
-Safety Controls: Features a wireless remote control system, allowing operators to maintain a safe distance while executing precise maneuvers; additionally, it integrates laser-based obstacle avoidance and audible-visual alarm devices to ensure absolute safety in environments where personnel and machinery coexist.

During the process of transferring transformers from the winding station to the vacuum drying furnace, the lithium-battery-powered omnidirectional transfer cart achieves seamless "point-to-point" docking via wireless remote control. Compared to the previous cumbersome workflow—which required waiting for overhead cranes to perform lifts, followed by forklift assistance for positioning—the time required for a single transfer has been reduced by over 50%. Furthermore, unconstrained by tracks, the vehicle can drive directly into the drying furnace to execute precise alignment, thereby completely resolving the long-standing challenge of maneuvering traditional equipment into and out of the furnace.
